Be Still And Know
Over the past year, God has continually reminded me of the scripture, “Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10) At first glance one may think God is asking you to “be still.” However, in the original Hebrew text the command to "be still" comes from the Hiphil stem of the verb rapha which means “to let go or release” and may even be translated “cause yourself to let go.”
Therefore, God is commanding us to let go, and trust Him. According to Exodus 14:14, “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”
Letting go is no easy task, but when we surrender our hearts & will to God we have the peace of God which truly transcends all boundaries. (Philippians 4:7)
Trust that He is God and: Let go of the past Let go of the heartbreak Let go of fear Let go of disappointment Let go of the emotional pain Let go of worry and anxiety Let go of all the hurt and forgive people Let go of trying to please everyone Let go of fear of the future Let go of your plans & embrace His
Just “be still” because we serve a faithful God!
